Jill was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and spent her childhood between there and Atlanta, Georgia. She then attended Chatham Hall in Virginia. Jill attended Tulane University where she received her Bachelor of Arts from Newcomb College in 1992 and her Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School in 2000. During law school, Jill interned with the Honorable Rebecca F. Doherty, United States District Judge, Western District of Louisiana and with the Honorable Steven R. Plotkin, Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Upon graduating from law school, she spent one year as a law clerk to Judge Doherty before moving into private practice with one of Lafayette’s top business law firms. She has also clerked for the Honorable John E. Conery, Third Circuit Court of Appeal, and the Honorable Michael C. Hill, United States Magistrate Judge, Western District of Louisiana. Jill is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association where she serves on the House of Delegates. She is also a member of the Lafayette Parish Bar Association, where she has served as a Member of the Young Lawyers section, Past Chair for the Women’s CLE Committee, and as Editor of The Promulgator. She is married to Bryan K. Wade and they have one child.
